EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides a valuable resource for support and information during difficult times. The EAP is a free, voluntary, and confidential program that provides problem identification, counseling, and referral services for employees and their household members. All Joliet Public Schools District 86 employees may benefits from this program, substitute, part-time, temporary, full-time, administrative, support staff, etc. Employees will be directed to counseling services to assist them with a variety of concerns, including, but not limited to:
- Anger management
- Anxious feelings
- Conflict at work or home
- Domestic violence
- Family/parenting/elderly issues
- Financial concerns
- Pre- and post-natal concerns
- Problems with alcohol or drugs
All calls and counseling sessions are confidential, except as required by law. Help is just a phone call or mouse click away.

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program's purpose is to provide student loan forgiveness to borrowers serving in eligible careers, including all public school teachers, after 10 years of service. More information can be found here: https://studentaid.gov/pslf/

OPEN ENROLLMENT INFORMATION:
Open enrollment is the only opportunity for you to make changes to your health insurance coverage, unless there is a relevant qualifying event mid-year and the Business Office is notified and provided with documentation within 30 days of the qualifying event.
Open Enrollment 2024 opens October 1, 2023.
Open enrollment runs annually, October 1st - November 30th, for elections to become effective January 1st.
CHANGES ALLOWED DURING OPEN ENROLLMENT:
Eligible employees may use the open enrollment opportunity to:
- Enroll/Discontinue coverage
- Enroll/Discontinue family dental
- Enroll/Discontinue spouse/dependent coverage
- Enroll/Discontinue AFLAC
- Enroll Discontinue NCPERS
