Beginning of Summer

Jun 03, 2019

The beginning of summer vacation always brings lots of enthusiasm and excitement as students and staff members alike consider their freedom from the day-to-day school activities.  However, we still need to plan for learning activities to help carry us through the summer months.

Summer School for District 86 will begin on June 17th and go through July 25th.  There are lots of great activities planned for the students who are registered to attend.

There are summer academies hosted by the Joliet Township High School District 204.  Information is available on the district website at https://www.jths.org/district-programs/jths-summer-academy

The Joliet Public Library also has summer programs available.  Please visit their website at http://www.jolietlibrary.org/index.php/en/ for more information.  I've created an account with the Joliet Public Library to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge!  Let's see how many pages we can read this summer!

There are also activities available all over Joliet through the Joliet Park District (website:  https://jolietpark.org/) and the Will County Forest Preserve (website:  https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/).  I'm challenging myself to do more activities outside this summer!  Maybe I'll see you at one of our amazing parks or on a forest preserve trail.

Let's remember that learning can happen in any location and at any time.  Enjoy some family activities and talk with someone else about what you have learned along the way!

As always, if you have any questions or comments feel free to click the Lets_Talk_button_-_Joilet_public_school_button_Blue logo here or at the top of the district website.

Happy Summer Learning!
