Over 225 junior high students from Dirksen, Gompers, Hufford, and Washington Junior High Schools will participate in the upcoming Joliet Central and Joliet West Homecoming Parades. The Joliet Public Schools District 86 Marching Band is led by directors Christine Adelmann (Gompers Junior High), R. Scott Barnas (Washington Junior High), Morgan Kupec (Dirksen Junior High), and James Shaw (Hufford Junior High). Overall, more than 1,700 students in grades 4-8 participate in the school choir, band, or orchestra program in Joliet District 86.
