In celebration of Black History Month, fifth grade students at A.O. Marshall Elementary School hosted a live wax museum, focusing on African Americans, at their school. In preparation of the event, the students researched, created a display, and wrote a narrative about a notable African American person. The students even dressed up like the person at the event.
The famous African Americans, past and present, came to life when students and visitors pressed a button at the displays. Selections included Muhammad Ali, Gordon Bellamy, Kobe Bryant, Carla Hall, Quincy Jones, Jackie Ormes, and Rosa Parks. The event was organized by Marshall teacher Maida Sauseda.
