District 86 Administrators Present

Congratulations to Joliet Public Schools District 86 Superintendent Dr. Theresa Rouse and Assistant Superintendent for Equity and Student Services Dr. Sunni McNeal who were invited to present at the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) Three Rivers Division Virtual Meeting on October 29, 2020. Over 130 school board members and administrators, representing several school districts in the the area, attended the virtual meeting.

Dr. Rouse and Dr. McNeal shared a presentation titled the “New Normal: Social and Emotional Support for Everyone.” They provided several examples of supports school districts should consider while helping to meet the social and emotional needs of students, as well as the needs of teachers, administrators, and school board members during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

“Connections are critical to the physical and mental health of both of students and employees,” said Superintendent Dr. Theresa Rouse.

“The pandemic places limitations on socialization, but our student services staff have created unique services and plans to reach those individuals that need additional support.” Dr. Sunni McNeal added.

As Superintendent, Dr. Theresa Rouse currently oversees over 10,390 students at 21 schools in Joliet. Joliet Public Schools District 86, the fourth largest elementary school district in Illinois. She has served as Superintendent of Joliet Public Schools District 86, the fourth largest elementary school district in Illinois, since July of 2016.  

Dr. McNeal has worked in District 86 for the past 14 years. She was promoted to her current position of Assistant Superintendent for Equity and Student Services on July 1, 2020 after serving as the Director of Student Services for six years.
