Audiological services are provided free of charge to children. The home school district of the individual receiving services must approve any request for audiological services as they are financially responsible for students from their attendance area.
Among the services provided by on-staff licensed audiologists are hearing screenings, hearing testing, hearing aid evaluation and fitting, earmold fitting, provision of assistive listening devices and consultation to medical providers, parents and school personnel.
The audiologist within the educational environment is familiar with school expectations and is able to make recommendations based upon what is expected auditorally of a child in the school setting.
Request for audio services may be made by contacting the Audiological Department at the JFK Center at 815-740-3196.
