Students Receive Superintendent Awards for First Trimester

Student Superintendent Award Winners - First Trimester

Congratulations to the Joliet Public Schools District 86 students who received the Superintendent’s Award for the first trimester of the 2023-2024 school year. One student from each District 86 school was selected for this honor. Superintendent Dr. Theresa Rouse, along with the school principal, presented the awards to the students.

“I love surprising the students with these awards,” said Joliet Public Schools District 86 Superintendent Dr. Theresa Rouse, “The students should be very proud of themselves for being the only student selected in their school to receive this special recognition.” 

The student winners were: Abigail Garcia, T.E. Culbertson Elementary; Daniel Varela, M.J. Cunningham Elementary; Caleb Barefield, Dirksen Junior High; Amayah Wells, Eisenhower Academy; Courtney Copeland, Farragut Elementary; Sophia Mauricio, Forest Park Individual Education School; Victor Beamen, Thomas Jefferson Elementary; Zoey Keys, Gompers Junior High; Ivvan Gomes, Hufford Junior High & Academy Program; Tevinae Adams, Edna Keith Elementary; Elijah Haskell, A.O. Marshall Elementary; Alan Dela Torre, Marycrest Early Childhood Center; Kylie Rojas, Pershing Elementary; Cristian Sosme Moyotl, Sator Sanchez Elementary; Kaleb Handy, Carl Sandburg Elementary; Alexa Lopez, Isaac Singleton Elementary; Dillon Roper, Taft Elementary; Eliana Almazan, Lynne Thigpen Elementary; Avery Benson, Thompson Instructional Center; LeAnn Rose Harbeck, Washington Junior High; and Lenny Lopez Zarate, Woodland Elementary.

Twenty-one additional students will receive this award at the end of the second and third trimester of the school year.
