Welcome to Forest Park Individual Education (I.E.) School! Forest Park I.E. School is Joliet's only elementary school offering a program based on the Individual Education philosophy. Our magnet school not only provides students a unique educational choice, but serves to attract a diverse student population. Forest Park's 300 student enrollment is open to all K-5 students residing in Joliet Public Schools District 86 on a first-come-first-served basis.

The curriculum at Forest Park Individual Education School consists of three areas: academics, creative courses, and counseling. The program fosters academic achievement, creativity, social, and emotional development of students. The "4R's" are the cornerstones of the building:

RESPONSIBILITY: A student is given the opportunity to be responsible for his own learning and behavior.

RESPECTFULNESS: A student is always treated with respect and thereby learns to respect self and others.

RESOURCEFULNESS: A student develops an awareness of his ability to control and direct his resources toward accomplishing life tasks.

RESPONSIVENESS: A student learns how to react to situations and builds trusting interpersonal relationships with peers, parents, and teachers.

Parents and families are an essential part to making Forest Park I.E. a successful school. As part of our partnership, all parents are required to attend four (4) parenting sessions throughout the year. Please call our school office if you would like more information.
