Welcome to Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, home of the Patriots! We are proud of our students, teachers, parents, and community who make the school so successful.
Jefferson Elementary School houses approximately 475 students. The following programs are at our school: Four classrooms of all day kindergarten, three classrooms of all day bilingual kindergarten,on and 1/2 classrooms of first grade, three classrooms of bilingual first grade, one and 1/2 classrooms of second grade, one and 1/2 classroom of grade three, one and 1/2 classroom of grade four, and one and 1/2 classroom of fifth grade. The building and classrooms also house students with special needs that are given individual services based upon their instructional needs.
Along with teachers for each one of these classrooms and teachers for specific areas of special needs, there are teachers for the instruction of Deaf and Hard of Hearing program, instructional aides, a reading resource specialist, interpreters, speech therapists, and various itinerates to meet individual student needs. The Building Team Leaders meet on a regular basis to continuously improve our school and a Building Core Intervention Team helps in providing needed services to individual students and teachers.
From our diverse student body, students not only achieve academic State Standards, but also learn from each others cultural backgrounds. Students have the opportunity to learn Spanish and Sign Language. They also learn to help each other regardless of age, grade, or ability.
Thomas Jefferson Elementary School is still small enough that students and staff know each of its members. It is big enough to experience diversity in its population and benefit from each others experiences.
Our mascot, The Patriot, blends us all together as one family. Each Wednesday of the school year is red, white and blue day. Each Friday is Jefferson Elementary School Day. Students and staff are encouraged to show their spirit on these days by wearing spirit clothing.
