Hufford I.E. Students

Over 20 students signed up for the Community Service elective course in the I.E. Program at Hufford Junior High. The students researched local needs in the community and organized a food and sock drive at the school. The students collected enough food to fill four micro panties in the Joliet area and over 100 pairs of socks to donate to the MorningStar Mission.

"I am so proud of these students for taking the initiative to help out the community and appreciate Mrs. Neill's leadership." said Hufford Junior High School Principal Kyle Sartain.

Students participating in the class include: Laila Caldwell, Leah Collins, Brook'Lynn
Doss, Braedon Gomez, Ashley Gutierrez, Karen Haro Garcia, Juan Iniguez, Andrea Jaime, Gabriela Juarez, Fabian Leon, Dayanara Martinez, Miguel Mejia, Jaded Modesto, Ernesto Morales, Yareli Moreno, Cecilia Omokunmi, Miranda Ostiguin, Emiliano Paredes, Brianna Pina, Alejandra Ramirez, Leilani Rocha, Axel Sanchez, Jimena Ulloa, and Faith Walker.

The students are now in the middle of planning a coat drive. The class is sponsored by Hufford I.E. sixth-grade Math and Science teacher Tara Neill.

The I.E. program at Hufford Junior High is a magnet program that offers a unique educational setting for students in grades 6-8 based on the Adlerian Individual Psychology. The program is founded on Raymond Corsini's 4Rs: Responsibility, Respectfulness, Resourcefulness, and Responsiveness and focuses on a balance of academics, social skills, and creativity. The elementary school I.E. component is housed at Forest Park School. Enrollment is open to students residing within the boundaries of Joliet Public Schools District 86.
