The primary mission of the Department of Food Services is to support the educational environment by providing balanced, nutritious meals to our students. Our entire staff is committed to offering a wide variety of meals that meet not only the nutritional needs, but also satisfy the wide ranging taste requirements of our students. We endeavor to provide this service in a clean, safe, student- friendly setting. Our staff is accessible and happy to answer questions or respond to the concerns and/or suggestions of students, parents, and staff.
On behalf of the Food Service staff, we look forward to serving the needs of our customers: the students and staff of District #86.
Breakfast and lunch will begin on the first day of school. Beginning with the 2013-2014 school year, District #86 is participating in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program Community Eligibility Option. All registered District students, kindergarten through eighth grade, are eligible to receive a free breakfast and lunch each school day. There is no application required to participate.
Milk purchased separately is $.35 per carton.
Lunch may be ordered daily. Breakfast must be ordered one week in advance, on Friday for the following week. Contact your child’s school for specifics. Monthly menus are posted on the District website.
