The mission of the Department of Food Services is to support the educational environment by providing balanced, nutritious meals to our students. The entire staff of the Department is committed to offering a wide variety of meals that meet not only the nutritional needs but also satisfy the wide ranging taste requirements of our students. We endeavor to provide this service in a clean, safe, student friendly setting. Our staff is accessible and happy to answer questions or respond to the concerns and or suggestions of students, parents and staff.

On behalf of the Food Service staff we look forward to serving the needs of our customers, the students and staff of District #86.

Breakfast/Lunch Information

Breakfast and lunch will begin on the first day of school. The District participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program Community Eligibility Provision. All registered District students, kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible to receive a free breakfast and lunch each school day. There is no application required to participate.

Lunch may be ordered daily. Breakfast must be ordered one week in advance, on Friday for the following week. Contact your child’s school for specifics. Monthly menus are posted on the District web site.

Milk purchased separately is $.35 per carton.

Miscellaneous Information

As the District’s breakfast and lunch program is not an income eligibility based program, participation does not qualify households for fee waivers or other benefits. The Food Service Department cannot provide documentation qualifying households for other benefits. For information regarding fee waivers you may contact your child’s school.
