The Joliet Public Schools District 86 Board of School Inspectors approved Joliet District 86 graduate José Jaramillo as the new Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Labor Relations effective July 1, 2026. He replaces Dr. Judith Zito-Nash who is retiring. Mr. Jaramillo attended A.O. Marshall Elementary and is a graduate of Gompers Junior High School.
Mr. Jaramillo has more than 22 years of experience in education. For the past five years, he has served as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Operations at Fenton Community High School District 100 in Bensenville, Illinois. He also has served as Assistant Principal for Student Services in Glenbard South High School, Director of Deans at Willowbrook High School, and Dean of Students in Plainfield School District 202.
Mr. Jaramillo began his higher education journey at Joliet Junior College and earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Teaching of Spanish from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of Saint Francis.
