SUMMER PROGRAMS 2026

June 29, 2026

Dear Summer School Families,

Due to the forecast of dangerous extreme heat and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students and staff, Joliet Public Schools District 86 will implement E-Learning Days on Tuesday, June 30, and Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

What does a schedule look like for an E-learning Day?

  • Students will access Google Meet via Google Classroom or Seesaw

  • The teacher will take attendance

  • Students will follow the e-learning schedule provided by their school and/or teacher

  • Classes will be from 9:00- noon

  • Additionally, teachers will be available for office hours from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to answer questions and provide support

How will attendance be taken?

  • Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class

  • Students should be on time for class

  • The caregiver is required to call the school office if the student is having trouble logging onto the internet

  • Students will complete an absent assignment if they are not able to log in for class

  • Schools will call home if the student has not logged into the class

What if a student does not have internet access?

  • Students will complete the absent assignments given to them by their teachers

Thank you for your understanding and partnership as we work to keep our students safe during the extreme heat.

Reminder: School buildings will be closed July 2, 2026, for the holiday weekend.

Sincerely,

Joliet Public Schools District 86
