Congratulations to the Dirksen, Gompers, Hufford, and Washington Junior High School Students who each received a Joliet Grade Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence Scholarship in memory of Brenton Wadsworth. Mr. Wadsworth attended Joliet Public Schools and established a scholarship fund in 2006, creating a lasting legacy that will support District 86 students for years to come.

The eighth grade students included Denise Gonzalez and Francisco Sandoval from Dirksen, Jimena Jimenez and Juan Velasco Rueda from Gompers, Paul Kokuro and Denise Mendoza from Hufford, and Lilyana Iniguez and Matias Rosales Alvarado from Washington Junior High School. The students each received a $185 scholarship to cover the costs of the Joliet Township High School District 204 freshmen and student activity fees.

Since 2004, the Joliet Grade Schools Foundation has awarded more than $558,000 in classroom grants and $66,500 scholarships to benefit Joliet Public Schools District 86 students.
