October marks National Bullying Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and promoting kindness, inclusion, and respect throughout our schools and community. Joliet District 86 remains steadfast in our commitment to creating safe, supportive learning environments for all students and staff. We do not tolerate harassment, intimidation, or bullying in any form. Any behavior that impacts a student’s well-being or contributes to an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment will be addressed promptly and appropriately. Every student deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected. Together, we can help extinguish bullying by fostering empathy, standing up for one another, and building a culture rooted in kindness and inclusion.

Students can report any bullying issues by telling a staff member, requesting to complete a bullying report form, reporting it anonymously via our Bully Hotline, or using the link on our District webpage. Employees will respond immediately to a student who reports bullying or violence and will inform parents if their child is ever involved in a bullying incident.

To report bullying, call our Bully Hotline number at (815) 740-5400 or email bullyreport@joliet86.org. The Anonymous Bullying Report Form can also be found on our District website at https://www.joliet86.org/page/report-bullying

October is also National Principals Month, a time to honor and celebrate the incredible work of our school principals. Please join me in showing appreciation for their unwavering dedication, strong leadership, and commitment to creating safe and supportive learning environments for both students and staff. I am truly grateful and proud of the outstanding principals who lead our schools each day.
