Three new school board members taking oath of office

Congratulations to the three newly elected Joliet Public Schools District 86 Board of School Inspectors and District 86 graduates who were sworn into office. Incumbent Matthew Pritz and community members Deborah Ziech and Naurice Moffett were elected to four-year terms.

Matthew Pritz has served on the school board since 2021. He is a proud alum of Joliet District 86 where he attended Farragut Elementary, Forest Park Individual Education, and graduated from Dirksen Junior High and Joliet Central High School. Deborah Ziech first served on the Joliet Public Schools District 86 Board of School Inspectors from 2003-2023 and was re-elected to a new four-year term. She attended Taft Elementary and graduated from Hufford Junior High and Joliet West High School. Naurice Moffett is new to the Board of School Inspectors but is also a former Joliet District 86 students. He attended Woodland Elementary and Eisenhower Academy and is a Washington Junior High, and Joliet Central High School graduate.

Jesse Smith will serve as president and Matthew Pritz as vice president of the Board of School Inspectors. Over 9,560 students, from PreKindergarten through Eighth Grade, attend one of 21 Joliet Public Schools District 86 schools. District 86 is the third largest elementary school in Illinois.
