Joliet resident Elvis Madison, Jr. was appointed to fill a vacant school board seat at the June 9, 2021 District 86 Board of School Inspectors meeting. He joins incumbent Gwendolyn Ulmer and newcomer Matthew Pritz who were elected to four-year terms.

Matthew attended Farragut Elementary, Forest Park Individual Education (I.E.) School, and is a graduate of Dirksen Junior High and Joliet Central High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from McKendree University. Matthew currently serves as the Director of Operations at O’Brien Veterinary Group.

Elvis is also a District 86 alum. He attended Woodland Elementary and is a graduate of Washington Junior High and Joliet Central High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree in History from Trinity Christian College, his Masters of Secondary Education and Learning Behavior Specialist 1 from Lewis University, and completed his Educational Leadership, Principal Certification from Lamar University. Elvis is a social studies teacher at Thornton Township High School.

Tonya Roberts will serve as president and Erick Deshawn Dorris as vice president of the Board of School Inspectors for the next year. Joliet Public Schools District 86 schools is the fourth largest elementary school district in Illinois.
