Visitation & Aid Society Donates Food for Holidays

One hundred Joliet Public Schools District 86 families benefitted from Visitation & Aid Society of Joliet’s generosity. The service organization provided hundreds of grocery bags of full of food and children’s toys for District 86 families from T.E. Culbertson, M.J. Cunningham, Dirksen, Eisenhower, Farragut, Forest Park Individual Education, Gompers, Hufford, Thomas Jefferson, Edna Keith, A.O. Marshall, Marycrest, Pershing, Sator Sanchez, Carl Sandburg, Isaac Singleton, Taft, Lynne Thigpen, Washington, and Woodland schools to celebrate the holidays. Food items included ham, potatoes, pasta, vegetables, macaroni and cheese, fruit, rolls, bread, crackers, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, pancake mix, syrup, candy canes, and cookies. Visitation & Aid Society volunteers lined the aisles of the Shorewood Jewel to fill up the bags with groceries. Each child in the families also received toys and clothing.
