Students Receive Superintendent Awards

Only one student from each District 86 school was selected by the school for this honor.  Superintendent Dr. Theresa Rouse, along with the school principal, surprised the students with the medal in their classroom. 

The student winners were Isabella Godinez, T.E. Culbertson Elementary; Kevionna Thomas, M.J. Cunningham Elementary; Briona Contreras, Dirksen Junior High; Nora Vanderhyden, Eisenhower Academy; Stephanie Rojas, Farragut Elementary; Ryan Thilmony, Forest Park Individual Education School; Giselle Perez, Thomas Jefferson Elementary; Mauricio Ortiz, Gompers Junior High; Esmé Bryson, Hufford Junior High; Camyiah Adams, Edna Keith Elementary; Kevin Lopez Torres, A.O. Marshall Elementary; Anthony Torres, Marycrest Early Childhood Center; Uriel Lopez, Pershing Elementary; Romeo Rojas, Sator Sanchez Elementary; Avery Skinner, Carl Sandburg Elementary; Aurelio Andrade, Isaac Singleton Elementary; Kenya Paige, Taft Elementary; Jayden Hawkins, Lynne Thigpen Elementary; Joseph Bolin, Thompson Instructional Center; Cheyenne Smith, Washington Junior High; and Courtney Veals, Woodland Elementary.

Twenty-one additional students will receive this award during second trimester and an additional 21 students will receive this award at the end of the third trimester of the 2018-2019 school year.
