New Principals at District 86 Schools

Joliet Public Schools District 86 recently welcomed community and business members into elementary and junior high schools for the District’s 15th annual Principal for a Day Celebration. “Honorary” principals shadowed the school principals and helped with student arrival, morning announcements, visiting classrooms, lunch and even conducted fire drills. 

"We love opening our schools to community leaders for them to see first-hand the great things happening in our schools and the hard work principals do on a daily basis." said Joliet Public Schools District 86 Superintendent Dr. Theresa Rouse.

Honorary principals included:  T.E. Culbertson Elementary: Tracy Metcalf-Theard, Joliet Junior College; M.J. Cunningham Elementary: Interim Police Chief Alan Roechner, City of Joliet: Dirksen Junior High: Councilman Pat Mudron, City of Joliet; Eisenhower Academy: Tycee Bell, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana; Farragut Elementary: Andrea Finch, Housing Authority of Joliet; Forest Park Individual Education School: Fire Chief Joseph Formhals, City of Joliet; Gompers Junior High: Susy Huerta, First Midwest Bank; Hufford Junior High: Denise Baran-Unland, The Herald-News; Thomas Jefferson Elementary: Dr. Sidney Sklar, University of St. Francis; Edna Keith Elementary: Andrew Jose, Joliet Police Department; A.O. Marshall Elementary: Leslie Newbon, Silver Cross Hospital; Marycrest Early Childhood Center: Pat Perrier and therapy dog “Tippi”, Just Breathe Yoga; Pershing Elementary: Mary Lancaster, Wermer, Rogers, Doran, & Ruzon, LLC; Sator Sanchez Elementary: L.
