The students were recognized at the Exchange Club Firefighter of the Year Banquet. Other District 86 student winners included: First Grade: Honorable Mention - Ariana Zavala (Pershing Elementary); Second Grade: Honorable Mention - Isairis Juarez (Carl Sandburg Elementary) and Anabell Lopez (A.O. Marshall Elementary); Third Grade: Honorable Mention - Fernanda Chavez (Pershing Elementary); Fourth Grade: 3rd Place - Adelyn Hill (Eisenhower Academy); Fifth Grade: 2nd Place - Holli Coughlen (Eisenhower Academy), Honorable Mention: Jordin Sims (Sator Sanchez Elementary), Jaqueline Molina (Woodland Elementary), and Fatima Ramirez (Woodland Elementary). Over 2,600 posters were submitted from 17 local schools.
