Accepting Late Student Registrations

All Joliet Public Schools District 86 families who have not completed the online 2019-2020 student registration or students new to District 86 must be registered by July 25, 2019.  All materials must be completed online at https://www.joliet86.org/students-parents/student-registration/. Proof of residency forms can be uploaded online or dropped off at the following schools: 

                     Dirksen Junior High, 203 S. Midland Avenue

                     Farragut Elementary, 701 Glenwood Avenue

                     Gompers Junior High, 1501 Copperfield Avenue

                     Hufford Junior High, 1125 N. Larkin Avenue

                     Marycrest Early Childhood Center, 303 Purdue Court

                     Pershing Elementary, 251 N. Midland Avenue

                     Isaac Singleton Elementary, 1451 Copperfield Avenue

                     Lynne Thigpen Elementary, 207 S. Midland Avenue

                     Washington Junior High, 402 Richards Street

                     Woodland Elementary, 701 Third Avenue                                                                              

Staff members will be available at these schools on Mondays-Thursdays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. until July 25, 2019 for families needing assistance.  Bus transportation will be not guaranteed for students who are registered late.

Parents/guardians of returning District students must provide proof of residency with one of the following documents: 1) most recent tax bill and proof of payment; 2) mortgage papers or signed/dated lease and proof of last month’s payment; or 3) letter of residence from landlord in lieu of lease.  In addition, two documents showing proper address must be presented.  These documents may include a driver’s license or state identification card, vehicle registration, voter registration, most recent cable television and/or credit card bill, current public aid card, current homeowners/renters insurance policy and payment receipt, or most recent utility bill.  New students must also provide identification for the parent/guardian, an original or certified copy of the child’s birth certificate, child’s previous school information, and legal custody documents if applicable. 

Physical examination and proof of immunization records are also required for students entering pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and sixth grade.  Eye exams are required for incoming kindergarteners or students attending District 86 for the first time.  Dental exams are needed for students entering kindergarten, second, and sixth-grade and proof of TDAP immunization is required for all sixth-grade students.  For more information, please visit www.joliet86.org or contact (815) 740-3196.
