Students Make Valentines for Veterans

Valentines

Messages included: “You are so brave,” “We are thankful for you,” Once a hero, always a hero,” “Thank you for fighting for our freedom,” Hope you have a Happy Valentine’s Day,” “You are amazing,” and “Thank you for your strength and courage.”

The cards and letters were dropped off at Congressman Bill Foster’s office for his Valentines for Vets program.  Members of his staff delivered cards to the VA Hospital Joliet Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) and the Joshua Arms Senior Living Center. 

Students from Farragut Elementary, Eisenhower Academy, Hufford Junior High, Gompers Junior High, Pershing Elementary, Sator Sanchez Elementary, Carl Sandburg Elementary, Taft Elementary, Thompson Instructional Center, and Lynne Thigpen Elementary Schools made valentines for the project.
