We are the largest junior high in District 86 with approximately 1000 students. We offer educational experiences to sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. Hufford Jr. High School also has a magnet school component, the Individual Education School, with a focus on the 4 Rs: Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness, and Responsiveness. In addition to our General Education Programs, we accommodate student needs through a continuum of Special Education Programs taught in an Inclusion setting. Additionally, we use a prescriptive approach to meet the individual needs of students through our Response to Intervention Initiative, RtI.

Core subjects include Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. Art, Music, Writing Lab, Math Lab, Character Education, Health, and PE compliment the core subjects. Accelerated classes are offered at every grade level to maximize opportunities for all students. Our Band, Orchestra, and Choir Programs are among the finest in Illinois and are a source of pride for our Hufford Jr. High School Community.

After-school Programs offer both athletic and academic opportunities as well as enrichment activities. The Sports Program offers students Girls and Boys Cross Country; Girls and Boys Basketbal; Boys Wrestling; Girls Volleyball; and Girls and Boys Soccer. The 21st Century After-School Program, Tutoring, Scholastic Bowl, Fan Club, Chess Club, Art Club, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, and Builders Club are just a few of the activities offered to our students to help them to grow and become strong independent thinkers ready for the future!
