Learning Disabilities

The Learning Disability Program is a resource or instructional program planned and implemented by a specialist trained in the remediation of specific learning disabilities. It responds to the child’s educational needs where a severe discrepancy exists between the child’s achievement and his/her intellectual ability or learning aptitude. The ultimate goal is to enable the child to function at his/her predicted achievement level within the standard classroom without supportive assistance.

The child who is identified as Learning Disabled exhibits a disorder in one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in understanding or in using language, spoken or written, which may manifest itself in an impaired ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or to do mathematical calculations.
